SNAPSHOTS BY DOMENICO LOPEZ

The fleeting moment by the editorial staff of MAGAZZINO26.

We like to think we can find photographers “with a capital F” from the future (next one)…. those capable of enclosing in one click what the eye does not see, like the imperceptible, eg, and tell us about it, discover it, making us jump and excite. We will do this regularly because we care and we must do it well, looking for new talent is not a simple and obvious thing.

For DOMENICO LOPEZ the passion for photography was born during his travels and was then deepened by him through an independent research, attending workshops and courses, until the decision to enroll in the Academy of Fine Arts matured with the aim of researching his style, to come across new stimulus opportunities and cultivate reflection, tecnica e artistica sull’oggetto del nuovo interesse. Domenico ha scoperto il suo linguaggio nella Street Photography e nella vita che l’attraversa. He subtracted the colors from his photos, believing that they may represent a disturbing note with respect to the moment he intends “to freeze”. White and black, in Street Photography, are needed, per lui, to give depth to the message. The photo, for Domenico, it is the memory of a single moment and should help us to relive from that moment the same emotions that the reality documented by him is made after all.

In the Project “Hour of Air“, Domenico documented the short moments of "freedom", almost a small way out of the grueling everyday life we have been to (and we are still) subject everyone, without exception.

In the Project “Covid Photos” an attempt was made to understand how in this emergency context everyone has undergone both internal and external changes. He wanted to observe the looks of those people forced to live in a new condition often marked by a deep personal discomfort.
