And the moda certainly does not remain to watch: more and more companies are adopting these guidelines just mentioned. A long transformation process, complex and gradual that (and hope) in a few years it will lead to having a large part of the production of completely eco-sustainable clothes and accessories.

To date, purtroppo, this transformation process almost exclusively involves high-level brands – without forgetting those who already in unsuspecting times had made these principles the foundation of their creed (read our article on Stella McCartney). These brands, from August 2019, they established the Fashion Pact: una global coalition of the main companies in the world of fashion and textiles, born in response to the appeal of French President Emmanuel Macron and al President and CEO of Kering François-Henri Pinault. The recycling technologies, dyeing, wash, as well as the search for new materials have given rise to a series of products with an unsuspected green soul.

One example among many, we particularly liked are the eco-bags UNDERWATER x GIGLIO.COM

Wanted by US Senator Gaylord Nelson after an oil rig exploded. They ended up in the sea 10 millions of liters of oil

Da 52 years now the 22 April is World Earth Day . Established by the United Nations in 1970 to bring the attention of public opinion to the importance of conserving resources and safeguarding the natural environment, it was strongly supported by the American Senator Gaylord Nelson. The theme of this edition is “We invest in our planet”.

The origins: the Santa Barbara disaster
The cause of the public mobilization is to be traced back to the environmental disaster that occurred in Santa Barbara del 1969. To be precise, was the 29 January as much as a Union Oil rig – located in 200 miles from the shores of Los Angeles – exploded under the strong pressure caused by drilling the seabed. They poured into the sea more than 10 millions of liters of oil. The balance was dramatic: more than 10 thousand seagulls were killed, dolphins, seals and sea lions. Un anno dopo, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the disaster, 20 millions of Americans started one of the first mobilizations in defense of the Earth. Nel 1990 the second Earth Day that went down in history was held: more than 200 millions of people of 141 Different countries poured into the squares, giving a new impulse to the culture of recycling, still little felt in the boom years of single-use plastics. The third memorable edition was that of 2000: it was the first time the internet was used to organize the event, and made it possible to reach hundreds of millions of people around the world.
