READ ... EVERYTHING AND ALWAYS ... FEW THINGS ARE FASHION LIKE A BOOK!

I read, sempre, every story intrigues me, every type of book, from the historian, to the "light", from the sweetest Italian to the bloodiest American. It will be that I do not travel a lot and now even less, but reading as Eco said makes you live many more lives than yours ... it's my way of being "fashionable" ...
It is an "old" book (2011!), I took it for the curiosity of the slightly odd title, but it reads very well and I recommend it.
Maybe in this period the THING touches me closely, but Marco Presta manages to dig into the universe of old age in a light and not obvious way. His way of presenting himself to the public in an ironic way, pungent but never disrespectful, led him to be one of the most prolific radio writers in "The Rabbit's Roar".
The two protagonists of the book, they are two old men who cannot be more different, linked by a strange and consolidated friendship. Uno, asocial geezer, unpleasant, intractable, consciously bad, he has no interest in life other than babbling sarcastic jokes, convinced that an old man can always afford to say what he thinks. The other, Armando, gentile, generous, cultivate his confidence a little’ naive in the goodness of the human being, because he has given and received a lot of love and he wants this heritage on which his life was based not to be lost and reach two young people. Fear of death and disease are exorcised by jokes and sarcasm, from the freedom to do and say why one finally feels free.
The characters are all well defined, even the "side dishes", they can be recognized everywhere, from the concierge to his daughter Anna, by Giacomo and Chiara, destined for a future in common, up to his wife Oretta and give the book the right dimension of a life that could be carried out in any city ... in a word, very enjoyable!
Marco Presta is one of the best Italian radio authors and hosts. Paired with Antonello Dose has been animating Radio morning for many years 2 with The roar of the rabbit. He has published the collection of short stories The terrestrial paradox (Aliberti Publisher 2009, Einaudi 2012) e, with Einaudi, the novels A kick in the mouth works wonders (2011), The troublemaker (2012), The joy of the corners (2014), Turn me on (2017 e 2018) and act as if you weren't there (2019 e 2020).
